Jennifer Danaher, MSW
Community Advocate Assistant
Jennifer Danaher serves as the Community Advocate Assistant within the Mission Accomplished Transition Services team. In this role she assists James, the Community Advocate Manager, and the City School District of Albany with three key areas: Workforce Development, Business Development and Community Engagement.
Jennifer Danaher is motivated to end all forms of oppression. Her personal encounters with a system that was intended to help survivors of intimate partner violence, yet continuously encouraged recidivism of perpetration and victimization, motivated her to go back to school for a degree in social work. Jennifer obtained an Associates in Applied Science in Human Services in May, 2014 from Hudson Valley Community College. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Welfare in May, 2016, and her Master’s of Social Work (MSW) in May, 2017, both from the University at Albany.
During Jennifer’s final year obtaining her Bachelor’s degree, August 2015-May 2016, she was an intern with Mission Accomplished (Transition Services). During her time as an intern, she worked as a co-lead for the CORe initiative with Community Solutions, which ignited a passion for community advocacy work.
Jennifer brings with her over 20 years of customer service and over three years of community service and public policy work. In addition to her work in community services and public policy for three years, for the past 16 years, Jennifer has worked in the travel industry which has afforded her opportunities to travel to third world countries and gain unique cultural experiences.
Jennifer is committed to serving the community and empowering minorities and women through her position as Community Advocate Assistant with Mission Accomplished Transition Services.
