Since 2015 we have given over 100 care packages to over 100 students. 72.9% of recipients have an average household income of less than $45,000 per year. All student recipients have transitioned into a New York State or out-of-state college, trade school or a gap year program.
What is the goal of the education care packages?
To remove the economic stress and barriers associated with purchasing essential college and dorm items.
Why do we give education care packages?
Our experience has shown that no matter what stage students are in their lives, they experience obstacles and hurdles that may create barriers to their success. Some students struggle with purchasing college and room essentials. In addition, students respond to society’s call to take action by pursuing higher education that will provide them with credentials to pursue meaningful careers. They are accepted into college and vocational programs then meet the challenge of purchasing the basic necessities they need to be successful in the classroom and feel comfortable in the learning and/or living environment.
WE are here to help alleviate the struggle and support their transition!
