Jonathan Richardson MSW/MPA

Board Chair

Jonathan Richardson, MSW, MPA, is a nonprofit professional dedicated to addressing equity issues, building capacity, motivating new impact leaders, and getting stuff done. Jonathan is the Communications and Special Projects Officer of the Community Foundation for the Greater Capital Region and manages the Foundation’s communications, impact reporting, and special initiatives. A fundraiser for over nine years, Richardson has helped local organizations raise over $3 million through major gifts, corporate relations, special events, foundation and government grants, and annual giving initiatives. Jonathan earned his Master of Social Work and Master of Public Administration degrees at University at Albany, SUNY, and his bachelor’s degree in Religion, Linguistics, and Gender Studies from the University of Rochester.

Jonathan is active in his community and passionate about professional development, community change, and social justice. One of his most notable achievements is the creation of the Emerging Nonprofit Leadership Accelerator program, a program dedicated to supporting emerging leaders in the nonprofit sector. In addition to serving on the board of Mission Accomplished, he serves on the boards of Association of Fundraising Professionals, NY, Hudson-Mohawk Chapter, and the Capital District Chapter of the New Leaders Council. He resides in Albany with his fiancé, Jared Meagher, and their three adorable pets.
